I missed this weeks Merlin. And I haven’t posted in forever. O.o

I’ll get right on that!

Deven Out.

P.S. Before you all think I’m breaking the law, my uni accommodation provides free TV! Yay, I have BBC again! :D

I think my life just revolves around TV…it’s all I talk about.

Would you like to hear about my life since my last post? OKAY.

My university still haven’t given me anywhere to live, despite the fact that I’m supposed to be moving in in about three days. Which is nice of them. Apparently, there aren’t any rooms left so they’re either going to give me a room that somebody drops out of (unlikely) or they’re going to give me temporary accommodation. Mum thinks it’ll be a shared hotel room but I bet I end up in bunkbeds in a room shared with 8 other people or something like that. Whatever, as long as it has an internet connection, I’ll be fine.

Doctor Who was quite good…I think. I can’t really remember it. I’m supposed to be packing for the next couple of days but I think I’ll have to watch as much Doctor Who as I can before I go. I’m not even sure If I’ll be able to take all my DVDs with me because there might not be space. All I remember from Doctor Who is that the last episode was the best one of this series so far and that River shouldn’t have been in it. At all. I kinda want this series to end just so we can get rid of River and start over again next series with a new plot line. Hopefully it won’t go on as long as this one has.

Apparently, the new series of Merlin starts on the same day as the last episode of Doctor Who! I’m so excited! I keep seeing trailers and just thinking “AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME YES PLEASE.” I hope that my university tells me to move in on Sunday so I can actually watch Doctor Who and Merlin on live TV.

That’s another thing, I can’t afford a TV license and I don’t like  breaking the law so I can’t watch live TV when I go to university. That is, unless the common room has a TV that nobody else is using. If I even have a common room. Actually, if I get put in a hotel, I’ll probably have a TV! I guess that’s one good thing about not having a real room, although, mum’s already bought me my own TV so I can play my Xbox while I’m away.

Right, before I go, I just want to say that I watched the new episode of Glee today and Blaine is now 5. What? HE’S TOO YOUNG. The episode was good, though, but the cliffhanger was EVIL. How dare they end it there? Anyway, I’m going now.

Goodnight/morning/afternoon/evening/whatever!

My Xbox Live is working again – feel free to add me!

My Gamertag is DevBot93…Add me and I’ll play Halo or Fable with you or something. Send me a message telling me who you are, though, first or I might think you’re an Xbox stalker.

I may make another post later with all my profiles and friend codes on all the other consoles, too, so watch out for those if you don’t have an Xbox.

Tesco is now out of stock. OF EVERYTHING. Especially stripy mugs.

Posted in My Life!, Sherlock with tags , , , , , , on September 21, 2011 by deve2k

A couple of hours ago, I went to Tesco to buy all my university stuff. Mum spent £400. Yep. I’m taking a lot.

Half of that did go on a TV, though. Oh, and a printer. Those were my presents for getting good grades, apparently!

Also, I totally got some mugs like the ones that Martin Freeman and Benedict Cumberbatch had during the Sherlock filming. Mum was trying to make all my plates and stuff match but the mugs were just there and I was like “NO I WANT A BLACK ONE AND A BLUE ONE” and I didn’t tell her why.

I may actually write their names on them. Tea will forever amuse me, now!

Anyway, that’s enough about (awesome) mugs. I’m going to go now. Everyone is watching Glee and I missed the start so I’m going to abide by the laws of the land and watch it on Sky1 tomorrow/later today when it airs. NOBODY SPOIL IT FOR ME.

Just another quick Doctor Who related post!

If you’re into spoilers and that kind of stuff, I suggest you follow @DWMtweets on twitter.

Apparently, Doctor Who Magazine have been to a screening of the new episode and, among other things, The Moff has confirmed that there will be a new companion. Not sure how I feel about that one. (EDIT: This may be a joke. How do I humour? ^.^)

Seriously, there’s loads of awesome stuff on their twitter feed. It’d be quicker for you to visit it than for me to type everything up!

Doctor Who Update: Prequel to Let’s Kill Hitler released + more info about The Gunpowder Plot

Posted in Doctor Who, TV, Video Games with tags , , , , , , , on August 15, 2011 by deve2k

Enjoy!

If you want to watch that on the Doctor Who website, it’s over here.

Well, that was…something. I now feel sorry for every character on the show. I hope finding Melody doesn’t mean that Amy and Rory will have to leave the TARDIS. Although, I don’t suppose it will because River is always hinting that she learned how to fly the TARDIS and whatnot from The Doctor, so the three of them would have to be there for that to happen. Anyway, I don’t like to speculate because, when my guesses are right, I get annoyed that I already knew what was going to happen!

On to the next thing!

There’s been a bit of an update on the next Adventure Game, ‘The Gunpowder Plot’. It’s not a particularly enlightening article, though. It basically just tells us that “some of the UK’s best known actors” have finished recording their lines for it, which is great, I guess. It comes out in October so it’ll probably be almost finished by now! If you want to read the article, here it is.

If you haven’t played any of the adventure games yet, you should probably go to the website (here) and download them. I know I’ll be playing through them all again because everything on my hard drive was recently deleted so I don’t have them any more.

Just before I go, I know it hasn’t actually been confirmed by the BBC yet but, I think Let’s Kill Hitler is due to air on the 27th of August. That means it’s only 12 days until we’ll be watching Doctor Who again, huzzah! I’m secretly hoping that the BBC decide to schedule it later, though, because I’ll be at Leeds Festival when it airs and will have to turn my phone off and ignore the internet until the Monday when I get back. Maybe I’ll be able to find someone with a portable TV or something, you never know!

Torchwood: Miracle Day and a (sort of) Doctor Who update

Posted in Doctor Who, Torchwood, Torchwood with tags , , , , , , , , , , , on August 12, 2011 by deve2k

A million years ago, I made this post about how it didn’t matter that Doctor Who would be split into two parts because we’d have Torchwood in the middle. I lied. It does matter.

I miss Doctor Who!

Torchwood: Miracle Day is all right, but it’s nowhere near as good as the other series. I miss watching them beat a different bad guy every week until the last episodes where everything comes together for an awesome finale! I also miss Wales. I’m glad that PC Andy is still in it – he’s my favourite character! (No, really!)

I think he was promoted this series. Congratulations, Sargeant!

This series just seems too…American. I guess that’s awesome for Americans but it’s just not working for me. Don’t get me wrong, I have nothing against American dramas – some of them are ace! I just think this series seems like one extremely long, slightly predictable movie and I don’t like it. I’m also not keen on any of the new characters, either, which probably doesn’t help. Bill Pullman is very good in it, though, and he seems to have awesome skills which allow him to make Oswald Danes one of the creepiest characters I’ve ever seen.

On the bright side, the music is very good. Although, it’s composed my Murray Gold, so I wouldn’t expect anything less, really. He’s awesome.

Anyway, I was going to do an update on Doctor Who news but most of it’s so old now that, if you really wanted to know it, you probably already would by now. What I will say, though, is that there’s a new Adventure Game coming out! I haven’t been checking the Doctor Who website but I also haven’t heard anyone else talking about it anywhere else on the internet, which is strange, so I’ve only just found out today.

It’s called The Gunpowder Plot and it’s about, well…The Gunpowder plot! Yay, educational Doctor Who games! It actually looks pretty awesome, here’s what the website has to say about it:

It’s the most ambitious Adventure Game to date and stars Matt Smith as the Doctor, Karen Gillan as Amy and for the first time, Arthur Darvill as Rory Williams. This new, dazzlingly epic story gives you the chance to battle aliens in London, 1605. But as well as extra-terrestrial monsters, you’ll meet Guy Fawkes (visualisation above) and really get a feel for what was happening at this incendiary moment in Britain’s history. It’s your chance to virtually step back in time, chat to famous figures and participate in one of the most notorious plots the world has ever known.

RORY! Rory is going to be in this game! We’ll all be able to play as Rory and make ourselves feel infinitely more awesome than we really are! This fact on it’s own is enough to make me excited but the article mentions two other things that make me want to play this game even more. First:

And for the very first time, the introduction of portal technology will enable gamers to experience for themselves that the TARDIS really is bigger on the inside…

I’m hoping that this means teams from the BBC will be deployed to all our homes so they can install portals that lead to the TARDIS so we can actually visit it ourselves. Fingers crossed! And Second:

We’re delighted to say that The Gunpowder Plot also sees the return of two old enemies…

I’m not even going to begin to guess who they could be, but I’m still excited to find out!

Apparently this comes out in October, so there’s not much longer to wait! Here’s a link to the article on the Doctor Who website, so you can read the full thing yourselves.

Right, now for some more recent Doctor Who news. (This one’s actually from today, for once!) The prequel to Let’s Kill Hitler will be available on the Doctor Who website on Monday. The article says:

But stand-by for something that’s different to the previous Prequels! This one bridges episodes 7 and 8 and reveals a little about how the Doctor and Amy are feeling following the events of A Good Man Goes to War.

The Prequel is written by Steven Moffat and so as you’d expect, it has humour, drama and a heart-breaking moment… Matt Smith and Karen Gillan are on great form in the short video which you’ll be able to watch on Monday.

Hooray for feelings and probable plot hole fillings! This actually sounds good, although, I’m not looking forward to the so-called ‘heart-breaking moment’. Here’s the full article. Make sure you check that out on Monday, I know I’ll probably forget!
